Amazon Small and Light Program
Amazon Small and Light logistics program is a fulfillment solution for small and light-weight products that are fast-moving and priced €10 or less, VAT included.
The main reason for resorting to this program is quite clear: reduce handling costs of the eligible products. It is particularly useful to sellers who do not opt for FBA fulfillment, but choose to handle the fulfillment of their orders on their own.
What are the advantages of the Small and Light program?
The Small and Light program basically offers three main benefits. These are essentially the same as the generality of FBA program benefits, into which category Small and Light fits.
First of all, it allows entrepreneurs to apply lower logistic costs compared to those connected with Amazon’s “standard” sales program. Consequently, the result is a substantial improvement in profit margins. This can eventually lead sellers to offer even more competitive proposals to their customers.
Secondly, joining the program qualifies the products to be eligible for Prime. Participating in this special sales showcase will make the products even more visible thanks also to the free Standard shipping costs.
Lastly, the program allows access to Amazon’s customer service and FBA fulfillment that makes business much more efficient.
But, that’s not all. There are also some other indirect benefits. In fact, it is now possibile to enroll your Small and Light eligible products in the Pan-European FBA and in the European Fulfillment Network. By offering millions of customers a Prime purchasing experience with your products, you will immediately expand and grow your business throughout the European Continent.
By joining the above-mentioned programs, you will be able to send your inventory to a single location elected to service all the various territorial marketplaces. This will make you save a lot of money on logistic costs. How? You will only have to pay the fees of the country in which you have allowed Amazon to store your products.
How to join the Small and Light program
Now that we’ve explained what it is, let’s try to understand how the Small and Light program works and how you can join it.
Well, the first thing you have to do is register on Amazon FBA. Next, you have to enroll the eligible offers (we’ll later explain what this means) in the Small and Light program. Lastly, you have to send your inventory to Amazon.
Which offers qualify for Small and Light
In order to be eligible for the Small and Light program the products have to:
- be new
- measure not more than 33 x 23 x 5 cm
- weigh not more than 225 gr
- cost 10 euros or less
- belong to categories which are not specifically excluded by Amazon, such as those belonging to categories like adult products, dangerous goods, temperature sensitive goods between May 1st and October 14th.
If you have any doubts or questions, remember that you can refer to Amazon’s information section dedicated to the program. Alternatively, you can always contact the marketplace’s seller support.
