To frame Rufus in the right context, it can be useful to think of it as a true personal shopper. It responds to user questions in a conversational manner, with advanced integration with the product catalog and the ability to cross-reference community data with customer reviews.
As the company itself states on its website, Rufus uses artificial intelligence to answer all kinds of questions, such as, for example:
- Ask for help with something you have no experience with: “What do I need for a weekend camping trip?”
- Discover more about a topic that interests you: “What are the different types of coffee machines?”
- Get information about the products you are interested in: “What is the battery life of this laptop?”

How it answers user questions
As previously mentioned, Rufus has been trained to respond to user questions with a large information database that is constantly updated:
- Community questions and answers.
- Customer reviews.
- Other information from all over the web.
As the company clarifies on its website, Rufus does not intend to replace information found on product pages. It also does not aim to be a reference for professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. Additionally, since it does not work with a real-time updated database, its responses may not be consistent with current events.
